Silent Night Sheet Music

Silent Night Sheet Music

Silent Night sheet music is a famous Christmas carol composed by Franz Xaver Gruber in 1818 with lyrics by Joseph Mohr, which were written back in 1816. It was first played in Oberndorf bei Salzburg on Christmas Eve, which is a small town in Austria. It was performed for a congregation at Midnight Mass in St. Nicholas Church as a re-enactment of the birth of Jesus Christ and since then the song has become ingrained in Christmas culture whenever the holiday spirit arrives. It is sung and played mostly on Christmas Eve as a tradition to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, which of course is on Christmas day, the 25th of December every year. There have been numerous versions since then and it has now been translated into hundreds of languages. Here you can find Silent Night sheet music, which is a simple melody to learn and play. Recommended for beginner pianists. Happy holidays!

Silent night, Holy night
All is calm, all is bright
‘Round yon virgin , mother and child
Holy infant so, tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, Holy night
Shepherds quake, at the sight
Glory streams from heaven afar
Heavenly, hosts sings Hallelujah.
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born.

Silent night, Holy night
Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth,
Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
